Between February and April 2005, the foil-assisted catamaran Spirit was operated as a research vessel to conduct detailed trials of wake and vessel performance and to monitor response of the beaches in Rich Passage to operation of a high speed vessel.  The methodology and results of this study are summarized in Report 1 and Report 2.

 

At this time the study team anticipates that operations with an optimized research vessel will be conducted following construction of the new vessel, scheduled for October 2009.
